I have a love of teaching and knowing how important music and performing is to myself, I feel strongly about opening up opportunities for others through the medium of music. Music is a fun, social activity and can help a person become more confident and creative.

I am a friendly, honest and open person and care very much about people’s interests and ambitions in music. I always give 100% to my teaching and strive to ensure that I bring out the very best in every student.

I can teach private lessons in‐ Piano, Violin, Fiddle, Voice, Traditional Scottish Piano playing, Scots Song and Song Writing.

As well as my teaching experience through University and spending an extensive amount of time in schools for placement, I have taught privately for five years for a range of ages.

Moreover, I taught at SC&T (Scottish Culture and Traditions), an organisation based in Aberdeen for all ages. At SC&T there are a number of classes people can sign up to and for all different levels of ability. I held the session class for two years every Tuesday evening, teaching the class Scottish dance tunes by ear. I then steered the Singing / Song writing class the term after.

In addition, in 2015, I taught at the Aberdeen International Youth Festival. This was a brilliant week teaching young children, aged six to twelve, a range of instruments and concluded with a fantastic concert performance of the week’s repertoire.

I also taught this year at Common Ground on the Hill, a music festival in America, where I taught Scots Song.
